Beth Marshel

For the past 25 years Beth has been practicing and studying Vinyasa Yoga and Bikram Yoga. She is a certified E-RYT 200 -hour Yoga instructor, educated at Sonic Yoga in New York City. Beth is also a certified Children’s Yoga instructor, receiving certification at Super Yogi’s Schoolhouse. In addition, Beth is a Reiki practitioner.
Beth’s teaching goals are to assist individuals towards personal empowerment and fulfillment. She focuses on whole person health and wellness by guiding her students to strength in yoga, relaxation and artful living.   Her insight and experiences give her the ability to illuminate ancient teachings to give students the tools to use yoga in everyday life.   Her guided meditation experiences are unique and very popular amongst her students. Beth has studied the five major religions of the world and aims to impart the eastern philosophies of health and wellness for the individual in her yoga classes and teachings. Her personal goal is to become a Yogeshwari one day.

 

Beth teaches yoga to adults and children privately in her studio, in the Corporate setting, in private homes, in the classroom setting, and the yoga studio setting. She specializes in teaching those with special needs, health issues and weight management concerns.

Beth is an accomplished competitive USTA tennis player with over 30 years’ experience and has completed several triathlons.  She has been a private tennis instructor and has worked with large groups of up to 50 in events, after school programs, and for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.  She has also worked as a private swim instructor, as well as a group instructor at the YMCA of Greater New York. She is Certified as a Water Safety Instructor, able to certify lifeguards, and has been a beach lifeguard for the National Park Service at Sandy Hook, New Jersey.

 

In addition to her athletic resume, Beth holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Finance from New York University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Art History from Wagner College, New York and Bregenz Exchange College, Bregenz, Austria. She has worked for the Center for International Contemporary Art, The Margaret Roeder Gallery and, in addition, has worked for 13 years in Real Estate Finance and Insurance for MetLife, Armstrong Capital, and RJR Management, amongst others.

Jocelyn Wadhawan

Jocelyn is thrilled to join the Harmony Deva team in New York after moving here from California in 2016.  She is a certified yoga E-RYT 200 Hour yoga instructor and a prenatal yoga instructor. Jocelyn received her certification from Sonic Yoga, New York City.

Jocelyn combines 15 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with her love of yoga. As a Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor, She is passionate about helping students discover the potential for yoga to improve their health and wellness. As a prenatal instructor, Jocelyn calls upon her years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse to help women understand the amazing changes happening in their bodies and how yoga may become an integral part of their pregnancy, delivery, and parenting for years to come.

When you come to Jocelyn’s class, you will find an environment in which you can set aside the demands placed on you by the outside world and spend your time reconnecting with yourself, your needs, your wisdom, and your basic goodness. By using creative and powerful ways of guiding students into and through poses, Jocelyn helps students understand and feel the pose more deeply. Whether new to yoga, or an experienced yogi, she seeks to offer a fresh experience with yoga in every class.
